Our Masks

We are happy with our masks. When we were doing our hair I was worried that it wouldn't stick with the glue stick. What could we do? We tried to do it with PVA glue but it didn't work. We tried to finish the masks. Our masks were cool.

Making Masks

We are pleased with our masks. When we were glueing the raffia on I was worried that it would come off! We tried putting eyelashes and some glitter on the cheek and it worked! We tried cutting out the nose and the mouth and it worked! Our masks are outstanding!

Pirate Island

When the pirate gave the key to Pirate McThompson it was the wrong key but he had another key! We found the 7,15,12,4 Caitlyn

I got to open the treasure box with a key and there were crunchie bars inside. Olivia

More Treasures

The story behind my treasure.
My Nana’s sister made a dress that was used as a bridesmaid dress. It is very precious because my Nana’s sister died in a car crash. It is flowery up the top and on the sleeves and for the skirt it has material and silk over the top of that. I think it is very beautiful because it is a bridesmaids dress. It will be passed down to me soon.

My mum’s book is about a magic coin. That is on the cover. She wrote a letter to the author, she liked the book so much. The author wrote a letter back to my mum. She read it to me.

Still More Treasures!

My silver trinket box has little baby fairies that represent love. The lion means it is sterling silver. The leopard means it is made in London and the C means it is part of a set with boot hooks, trays and other stuff. The W.C. means that it is made by William Chinerry.

My mum got some wedding clothes. They have traditional dragons embroidered on them. Some are green and some are red. It got passed on from Granny to mum and next is me!
It is red and it feels silky. I think that mum will give it to me when I am twenty one.

My granddad has medals from the war. He has eleven medals. They’re all silver but one is gold. They’re all from different places. He’s still alive. The photo of granddad is him ready to go on patrol fro three weeks. It reminds me of him because he was in the war. He is now 75 years old.

Travis

I have a Taonga and I got it from my dad and my brother has a Taonga too. I had to try to use the carving tools to carve a whale bone. I thought I was doing a good job but my arm got sore so it’s not finished yet.

Nepia

This piece of treasure had been passed on to me but Dad is going to have it until I am 20. It was made in 2001, the same time as when I was born.
