My granddad has medals from the war. He has eleven medals. They’re all silver but one is gold. They’re all from different places. He’s still alive. The photo of granddad is him ready to go on patrol fro three weeks. It reminds me of him because he was in the war. He is now 75 years old.

I have a Taonga and I got it from my dad and my brother has a Taonga too. I had to try to use the carving tools to carve a whale bone. I thought I was doing a good job but my arm got sore so it’s not finished yet.

This piece of treasure had been passed on to me but Dad is going to have it until I am 20. It was made in 2001, the same time as when I was born.
